Bereavement Course – Peak Methodist Church

the bereavement journey poster feb 25 2 1

Peak Methodist Church at Calver Chapel will be running the 7-session The Bereavement Journey® programme on Monday mornings starting on 24th February 2025.

Loss needs to be processed for our physical and mental wellbeing. Unresolved grief can also affect our attitudes, relationships and attainment. The Bereavement Journey® is a place to talk – 7 Sessions of films and discussion for anyone who has been bereaved, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved.

This course is for bereaved adults to do their own grief work. It is supported by a Manual and facilitated by volunteers. Please note participants need to be able to hear other people's stories.

Topics include:

  • Attachment, separation and loss
  • The pain and responses of grief
  • Anger and guilt
  • Coping with others' reactions
  • Delayed and suppressed grief
  • Adjusting to change
  • Moving forward healthily

Faith is reserved for the final, 7th session, which provides a Christian perspective to commonly asked faith questions in bereavement. This is optional, making The Bereavement Journey® suitable for anyone of any faith or none.
