Preaching Plan

Dear friends,

As we enter the Advent/Christmas season we come once again to recall the amazing love of God revealed in a helpless, vulnerable, frail child –“God with us”, Emmanuel. God with us – in joy and sorrow, in beauty and brokenness, in the light and the darkness. “In the beginning was the Word… the light of all people”. In a world where there is so much darkness and misinformation, the news of God with us is a message of light and truth. In an age of hatred and cruelty, the news of God with us is a message of love and healing. In a time of violence and anger, the news of God with us is a message of peace and justice.

May this season give us the opportunity to share again the Good News ofJesus, Emmanuel, God with us. That God, the creator of the universe, is with us in human form, sharing our helplessness, vulnerability and frailty. And may the message of the angels – “do not be afraid” – inspire and encourage us as we worship witness and wonder at the “news of great joy”.
